Course prerequisite: The Medical Terminology module is a pre-requisite for entry to the Introduction to Forensic Medicine Certificate course for those who do not have knowledge of medical terms. See Medical Terminology Course.

The Introduction to Forensic Medicine Certificate is an introductory course covering the basic elements of forensic medicine.

The course would be of extreme benefit to professional groups such as police, legal practitioners, law court and insurance personnel requiring knowledge of forensic medicine issues. The course is stimulating to all those with an interest in this fascinating subject.

COURSE AIMS

  • To provide a basic knowledge of the main medical, scientific and legal concepts and methodology in a forensic setting.
  • To provide an understanding of the basic organizational structures in the practice of forensic medicine and science.
  • To provide an overview of the multi-disciplinary nature of forensic medicine.
