Course prerequisite: The Medical Terminology module is a pre-requisite for entry to the Certificate of Health Counselling course for those who do not have knowledge of medical terms. See Medical Terminology Course.

The Certificate in Health Counselling Course assists individuals to develop their natural abilities and obtain a qualification in Health Counselling. The Certificate of Health Counselling course offered by The MEDICAL REGISTER of AUSTRALIA is valuable tool helping to train the health counsellors of tomorrow enabling them to achieve positive outcomes for their clients.

After completing your Certificate of Health Counselling course, you will have a clearer and deeper understanding of human thought processes and the dynamics of the counsellor and client relationship.

COURSE AIMS :

The Certificate of Health Counselling introduces basic counselling and communication skills and provides a foundation for further study. Course fees are correspondingly low.

COURSE STRUCTURE

Module 1
Medical Terminology Course (for those who do not have a knowledge of medical terms)
One, two-hour evening lecture for 11 weeks

Module fee $349

Module 2
Certificate of Health Counselling Course
One, two-hour evening lecture for 14 weeks

You do not need to purchase textbooks or other material. All lecture notes are supplied.

About Your Lecturers : Lecturers are delivered by registered, experienced tutors, who are also clinical practitioners.

Counsellors at Work

This course is specifically developed for those already working or wishing to work within the health industry who require an overview of Health Counselling, Social workers, nurses, and clinicians would also find the course of extreme benefit. Counsellors work wherever there are people. About half of all the counsellors in Australia work in health care and social welfare settings. Some counsellors work in private practice.

Applicants must have completed our Medical Terminology course (Module1) OR have a working knowledge of Medical Terms.

Medical Terminology : On completion of the Medical Terminology Module you will receive a certificate in Medical Terminology.

Health Counselling : Your certificate is granted upon successfully passing the final assessment.
