A DELICATED AND CARING INDUSTRY

The Veterinary Assistant Certificate is an introductory course covering the basic elements of small companion animal care.

The course provides training for those already working with companion animals or wishing to enter this rewarding career. School leavers may find the course a stepping stone into employment and to further study. The course is also open to interested members of the general public.

A Veterinary Assistant is a vital asset in any veterinary practice or business associated with pets.

Most domestic pets are cats and dogs. This course also covers the care of other companion pets such as birds, ferrets, pocket pets (rabbits, mice, guinea pigs) and reptiles.

Working with animals can be fun, challenging and exciting. One of the biggest challenges is that they can’t tell us in words when something is wrong. This course will provide you with the tools to help better understand them.

Lectures are conducted by Veterinary Surgeons who have extensive scientific knowledge and clinical experience from many real life situations.
